Thrust Supersonic Car – World’s fastest car

Thrust SSC is the world’s first supersonic car that broke world record speed was built by Richard Noble of Britain. It broke world land speed record with 1228 km/hr. It is first land vehicle to cross sound barrier to become supersonic car.

On 15th October 1997 at Black Rock desert in Nevada, USA it broke land speed record. The car has 2 jet engines producing 110,000hp of power consuming 18 litres of fuel per second. It was driven by Royal Air Force fighter pilot Wing Commander Andy Green. The car has a length of 16.5 m and weighed 10.5 tons.

It is now displayed at Coventry Transport Museum in Coventry, England.
