Thrust SSC is the world’s first supersonic car that broke world record speed was built by Richard Noble of Britain. It broke world land speed record with 1228 km/hr. It is first land vehicle to cross sound barrier to become supersonic car.

On 15^th October 1997 at Black Rock desert in Nevada, USA it broke land speed record. The car has 2 jet engines producing 110,000hp of power consuming 18 litres of fuel per second. It was driven by Royal Air Force fighter pilot Wing Commander Andy Green. The car has a length of 16.5 m and weighed 10.5 tons.

It is now displayed at Coventry Transport Museum in Coventry, England.
